다른 X관련 프로그램들이 대부분 그렇듯이 E17역시 일종의 프론트엔드와
마찬가지이다. 실제적인 작업은 enlightenment_remote와 같은
cui용 프로그램들이 맡고 그것을 잘 포장한 것이 E17이라는 의미이다.
아직 E17의 gui연동이 모든 기능이 만들어진 것은 아니지만 cui쪽은
세세한 부분까지 컨트롤 가능하도록 많은 부분이 이루어져 있다.
그러므로 E17을 제대로 쓰기 위해서는 아쉽지만 아직까지는
enlightenment_remote에 의존해야 하는 바가 크다.
물론 사용하지 않더라도 충분히 쓸만 하다)
--help옵션을 넣어보면 정말 많은 옵션들이 존재함을 알 수 있다.
 너무나 많아 자세한 설명까지 다는 것은 무리지만 일단 분류별로 모아 보았다.
여기에 누락된 옵션도 많다.
